About The Show
The Kelly Alexander Show has been a twinkle in Kelly’s eye for years. She always wanted the ability to host her own show where the sole purpose of the program was to be entertaining and engaging to listeners while thinking outside the box. Kelly’s dream has finally come true with The Kelly Alexander Show podcast, a weekly audio adventure that will surely capture your need for sound.
After meeting and working with both Esteban Vargas and David Jones (fellow media industry professionals), the trio decided to embark on this broadcasting adventure as a way to quench their creative thirst.
The team loves coming up with creative content that will keep people coming back for more. Whether Kelly is off recording some audio adventure from the Alexander Family Farm or trying not to break a leg participating in roller derby, the team is committed to bringing you an entertaining show that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Please fasten your seat belts – it’s going to be a crazy ride!
Geena Lee - The Lovezone
A voice actor, freelance writer and creator of The Lovezone at www.geenalee.com, Geena Lee revels in the art of storytelling through music and poetry. Having hosted countless radio shows based on relationships, and by interacting with listeners who share the ups and downs of their romantic experiences, Geena has acquired a unique insight into the multi-dimensional landscape of love. Believing that what we learn from love are the most important lessons of life, Geena strives to make sense of it all, sharing the gems she uncovers on the way.
Chris Pare – Producer
Christopher Paré is a gainfully employed journalist with little to no facial hair. He has been published in the Montreal Gazette, the Fortean Times, and Vice Magazine, (among many other publications - most not even worth mentioning). Christopher survived a four month internship in Kosovo, and has a small speaking role in Stanley Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut," (rowdy college student #3).
Barbara Purcell – Producer
Born and raised in Montreal, Barbara works producing talk-shows and reporting traffic for various radio stations, always looking to expand her dream. Family and friends are most important to her with her passion in writing and radio. She enjoys dining out, going to premieres, and taking part in the summer festivities... especially those fireworks and Just For Laughs shows.
Helping produce The Kelly Alexander Show is a thrill for Barbara and she believes it will be a big success!
Esteban Vargas – Technical Director
You can describe Esteban using the word "global." His mom is from Italy and his dad is from Mexico. Esteban himself is a born and raised Montrealer, so you can see that Esteban has a lot of cultural flavour. On top of that, he's got a lot of global interests, everything from camping, photography, reading and writing, to his affinity for Korean popsicles, (they're yummy - you should give them a try)!
Esteban is the technical guru behind The Kelly Alexander Show. He has tons of experience working behind the scenes in major-market radio and brings his creative wizardry to this innovative podcast. From creating the sharp production effects to piecing the show together, "Estebueno" is the man. He's also really good at keeping Kelly from hurting herself when she tries dangerous audio stunts for the benefit of the show, (some people just aren't meant to ride unicycles)!
Ian Campbell – Musical Composer
Ian has been fixated with keyboards and creating beats for as long as he can remember. A native of Goose Bay, Labrador, the music bug hit him at an early age. Realizing that to fulfill his musical aspirations he needed to head to the big city, he moved to Toronto and studied audio at Ryerson University. He's never looked back, and is responsible for many musical works that you may have heard on radio commercials, acid jazz compilations, and songs by Canadian pop artists. His talent is second to none, and Kelly is thrilled to have him on on the team producing original theme music for the show.
